MB Publishing

Are you a Writer?

If so, then we would be delighted to hear from you. Please read our submission guidelines below.

Please submit the following to bookproposal@mbpublishing.com.

• The first two chapters and the last chapter of the book (for novels, novellas, and nonfiction).  Writers of picture books, please submit your entire manuscript.

• A description of the book: one or two paragraphs explaining the premise of the book and why you (or your client) wrote it.

• A brief author biography.

• A table of contents (for nonfiction).

• A list of similar books, including the publisher, the author(s), and the publication date. Briefly explain how your book differs from these other titles.

If you have already submitted your manuscript via snail mail and have not heard back from us, then, unfortunately, we will not be making an offer to publish. If you are unsure if your manuscript has arrived (that is, if you have not tracked your package), then please feel free to resubmit to us via email.

~ From this date forward, when your submission is received via email, MB Publishing will respond within two weeks via email with a brief thank-you note and an acknowledgement that your submission has been received. It will read as follows:

Thank you very much for your interest in MB Publishing. Your submission has been received.

~ Within two weeks of our receiving your initial submission of three chapters, if we are interested in reading more, we will send you an email with that specific request. When that additional material is received by us, within three days, we will send you another email to let you know that we have received it. That email will read as follows:

Thank you for sending us the additional material.

~ Within two weeks of receiving that additional material, if we are interested in discussing publication, we will be in touch with you. If,  however, after two weeks, you hear nothing more from us, then we are, unfortunately, not going to be making an offer to publish. Please know, though, that you will not receive a rejection email or any further emails from us regarding your submission.

~ For picture book writers, within three weeks of our receiving your full manuscript, if we are interested in discussing publication, we will be in touch with you. If,  however, after three weeks, you hear nothing more from us, then we are, unfortunately, not going to be making an offer to publish. Please know, though, that you will not receive a rejection email or any further emails from us regarding your submission.

Thank you for reading our guidelines—and for submitting your work.

Best wishes,

Margie Blumberg, Publisher
