Imply vs. Infer
Danny said, "Hawaii is the best place on earth! I could definitely live here."
Imply means “to suggest" or "to express something without saying it in exact words.”
• Danny didn’t come out and say that he wanted to move to Hawaii, but he certainly implied it.
Danny said, "It's just another day in paradise!"
Infer means “to understand or conclude from statements or evidence.”
• I inferred from his comment that he likes it here a lot!
